From the Director of Music
My time with your wonderful
congregation has been enriching. I have enjoyed meeting and worshiping
with each of you. The music program has seen great changes during
our time together. Two changes in personnel top our list with
my stepping in as Director of Music and Janice Parkinson-Tucker filling
in while Marilyn was unable to be with us. I want to take this
opportunity to publicly thank Janice for her willingness to fill a void
in our time of need.
The choir has seen changes
in membership as well, with some veteran singers moving on in their
spiritual lives to serve God in different capacities, returning members
again finding room in their lives for the choir and new additions filling
our choir loft.
The youth choir program has
doubled through the addition of a cherub choir, also known as our FCC
Bubblers. Their pure joy of singing should be a lesson to all
of us. Our youth choir has also done a great job of leadership
helping the younger singers see and hear an outstanding example of enthusiasm.
Several members of the youth choir will be "graduating' to our
Senior Choir next fall and are expectantly welcome!
Our bell choir has welcomed
three new ringers this year. We have a goal of adding a Children's
Chime Choir to our music program next fall, allowing our children to
also participate in a bell experience. Just as our two children's
choirs serve as a stepping-stone to lifelong participation in a vocal
worship music experience, a chime choir will provide a strong foundation
to our Memorial Handbell Ensemble.
Praise God. You are a
blessed spiritual community and I am honored to have served you.
Soli Deo Gloria,
Bethany Kirkpatrick, Director of Music
