About the Pastor
Rev. Fred Gagnon, our Pastor for the past twelve plus years retired from full-time ministry at the end of December, 2021 with at heartfelt and teary-eyed send off ceremony. While our church actively searches for a new settled pastor we are blessed to have the services of the Rev. Paul Day who will serve as Bridge Pastor through February, and Rev. David Wayne Hughes who will serve as the Interm Pastor begining March 1.
The First Congregational Church of Scarborough, Maine welcomes our new pastors and all that would like to participate in our weekly church services. We believe this church is very special with fairly traditional weekly services, choir, warm and welcoming people, and the hot coffee, delicious refreshments and fellowship at post-worship "neighboring" gatherings in our vestry. We urge you to visit and see for yourself!
We are always on the lookout for visitors, and try our best to let them know, without being overwhelming, that we’re glad they came to check us out. So, whether you are looking for a permanent spiritual home, you’re a tourist in the area doing some sightseeing and want to find a church to attend while you’re here, or you are just plain curious, we hope you will stop in and see us some Sunday. We would love to have you be our guest!
